After a detailed briefing, youll be able to help with the inflation of the balloon, or simply leave it to the ground crew. Youll then experience the unique sensation of lift-off, gently rising into the air and leaving the world behind. When your flights finished, youll land in a field and be met by the retrieve crew with champagne! Youll receive a first time flight certificate signed by your pilot and Richard Branson, and then return to the launch site by road. Duration The total activity lasts 3 to 4 hours, and your flight lasts about an hour, depending on the weather. Flights take place in calmer weather during early morning or evening. Availability Ballooning takes place during the better weather from April to October inclusive, on all days of the week. Limited flights are available at the weekends during the winter months subject to good weather and ground conditions. Restrictions The minimum age for this option is 7 years old and children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a full paying adult, although no qualifications or experience are required. Youll need to be at least 4ft 6 and #8221; (1.38m) tall, and a maximum of 18 stone (114kg). The flight isnt suitable if youre pregnant, suffer from epilepsy or have some heart or medical conditions. Youll need to be reasonably agile to get into the basket, and be able to stand for an hour during the flight. Champagne is only available if youre over 18 years old. Hot air ballooning is weather dependent, and youll be sent full details when you book. Spectators Spectators are welcome to watch the launch.
